Power Cut
The Power Cut (also known as the Three Sisters formation) is a sandstone bouldering area about 25 miles south of State College, PA. It lies entirely within Rothrock State Forest, and is open to climbing. If you plan to go there as a group, you must arrange with DCNR beforehand.
As you drive down Frew Rd, you will cross a power cut. The rocks are visible on the ridgeline up and to your right. Park at the small lot just on the right just after the power cut, and walk up the obvious trail. Make sure you’re parked completely off the road.
A popular hiking trail (the Standing Stone Trail, formerly the Link Trail) goes straight through the formation. Please be courteous to any other hikers or outdoors people that you see.
