Red Alert: Proposed State Gamelands closure to non-hunters during peak season

Posted by Scott Woods on January 22nd, 2015

The Pennsylvania Game Commission has proposed a new free permit system for all State Gamelands. One of the new regulations in this proposal would close PA Game Lands to all secondary users, climbers included, for nearly six months during hunting seasons.

There are so many climbing areas on Pennsylvania Game Lands, this is definitely the largest-scale climbing closure that Pennsylvania has ever faced.

The link below details the Access Fund’s position on the closure, as well as the call to action to write a letter to the Game Commission. This is the time for public comment, and we need to make sure that climbers’ voices are heard.

Please spend 5 minutes writing a letter to the Game Commission now, while the proposal is open for public comment!
